Celebrating a decade as Miami’s landmark alternative artspace, Locust Projects organises its 10-year anniversary exhibition called Inevitable Continuum curated by executive Director Claire Breukel and artist Gene Moreno. Looking back at 10 years of exhibitions in the Wynwood artspace, Breukel and Moreno have invited one alumnus from each year to choose their favorite, most promising artist now.

Participating artists are Chris Buening selected by Tatiana Garmendia (shown at Locust Projects in 1999), Mariana Palma selected by Albano Afonso (2000), Ivan Reyes-Garcia selected by Gregory Green (2001), Seamus Harahan selected by Phil Collins (2002), Ronald Cornelissen selected by Beatriz Monteavaro (2003), Paul Cherwick selected by Jon Pylypchuk (2004), Jaime Gili selected by Eugenio Espinoza (2005), K8 Hardy selected by Laura Parnes (2006), Nikos Arvanitis selected by Magnus Arnason (2007), and Justin Hansch selected by Graham Hudson (2008).

Ter gelegenheid van het 10 jarig bestaan van Miami’s toonaangevende alternatieve tentoonstellingsruimten Locust Projects stellen directeur Claire Breukel en kunstenaar Gene Moreno de tentoonstelling Inevitable Continuum samen.Uit elk van de afgelopen 10 jaren kozen Moreno en Breukel 1 oud exposant en vroegen hen om hun favoriete, meest veelbelovende kunstenaar te kiezen voor de tentoonstelling.

The Multiple FEAR was commissioned by BLANCO Foundation from Rotterdam – it’s a numbered and signed edition of 10 – digital print, stuffed sock and cardboard.

De multiple FEAR is gemaakt in opdracht van Stichting Blanco uit Rotterdam - het is een genummerde en gesigneerde oplage van 10 – digitale print, gevulde sok en karton.

      
Commissioned by SKOR en TU-e,  2003

Arno Pronk, member of the TU/e, is of the opinion that the building industry does not possess the material or technical resources needed to realize extreme computer generated architectonic forms. He is not alone in thinking this. In collaboration with Professor Beunkers and students of the faculty for Air and Space Travel at TU-Delft he has developed a technical method intended to optimize the realisation of so-called Blobs architecture. Blobs officially stands for Binary Large Objects and is concerned with computer generated fluid architecture. The TU/e and SKOR invited Jurgen Bey, Ronald Cornelissen and Gabriel Lester to join students of TU Eindhoven in a workshop to design a ‘Blob’, which hopefully will serve as a functional pavilion for new media on campus at TU Eindhoven.

‘Lemmy’ was developed in collaboration with Ivo Vrouwe, Sander Harmsel, Oswald Verbeij and Jingyi Dai.

Opdrachtgever: SKOR en TU-e, 2003

Arno Pronk, werkzaam in Eindhoven, ontwikkelde samen met Professor Beunkers en studenten van de faculteit Lucht-en Ruimtevaart van de TU-Delft, de blowingstructure method, een technische methode die optimale realisering van de zogeheten Blobs-architectuur mogelijk zou maken.
Dat vormde de aanleiding voor de TU Eindhoven en SKOR om Jurgen Bey, Ronald Cornelissen en Gabriel Lester uit te nodigen om in een workshop met studenten van de TU Eindhoven een Blob te ontwerpen, met als beoogd resultaat een functioneel paviljoen voor uiteenlopende kunstprojecten op de campus van de TU Eindhoven.

‘Lemmy’ is tot stand gekomen in samenwerking met Ivo Vrouwe, Sander Harmsel, Oswald Verbeij en Jingyi Dai.
